A Community Publication
The stories behind Lenawee County's best local businesses.
What it is
Lenawee Locals is a community website featuring the best local businesses in Lenawee County, Michigan. It's more of a publication than a directory. Each feature, which we call a Spotlight, tells the story of the person behind the business: how they ended up here, what they care about, and what it's like to work with them. The businesses worth knowing aren't always the ones with the biggest ad budgets, and Lenawee Locals is where you can find the local gems.
Free, and by invitation only
Every listing is free, and every listing is by invitation. Nobody can pay their way in, so you're never looking at whoever spent the most to be seen. The businesses featured earned their spot by taking pride in their work and being willing to stand behind it.
Meet the people behind the business
Knowing who runs a business changes how it feels to spend money there. When you're dealing with a neighbor who puts real heart into what they do, you get a natural sense of accountability that you don't get from a faceless company.
And we have some fun
We regularly run giveaways, raffles, and scavenger hunts that send people out to discover Lenawee County's best local businesses.
Who's behind it
Lenawee Locals was created by Dan Rodriguez of Design Planet Studio, a local marketing studio in Adrian. I started it because I saw a real need to give excellent, hardworking businesses the exposure they deserve. We promote Spotlights and the businesses behind them on the Lenawee Locals Facebook page, so follow along to see who's been featured.
